The Sangdo Palri Temple Project
CompassionRocks is honored to support the completion of the Sangdo Palri Temple at Longchen Jigme Samten Ling, Mangala Shri Bhuti’s retreat center, in Crestone, Colorado. This 6,800 square foot, four-sided, mandala-shaped temple will be the first of its kind in the U.S. It will contain three shrine rooms, a library, three protector rooms, cooking and tsok preparation facilities, and a sitting room for teachers. The design features Tibetan and Japanese elements. It was created by architect Kelly Smith and features wood, plain outer walls, curved roofs, and simple colors to complement the beautiful natural setting.
The Sangdo Palri Temple is a project of Mangala Shri Bhuti, a nonprofit, 501(c)3 Tibetan Buddhist organization, under the guidance and direction of Venerable Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche.
The Stones Across America Project
With support and encouragement from His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche, CompassionRocks is working towards placing a mani stone in every state in the U.S. and at various sacred sites around the world. Each stone is inscribed with the mantra “OM MANI PADME HUM,” which translates to “hail to the jewel in the lotus,” and is associated with Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva that embodies the compassion of all the Buddhas.
We are currently busy supporting more imperative projects, but we look forward to reinvesting in this project in the near future. If you are interested in being involved with this project, please contact us directly, and we will be in touch!
